Choosing The Right REALTOR®

When I'm talking with prospective clients, here are a few key things I tell them to look for when interviewing a REALTOR®.

First, you'll want to make sure that they have experience in the type of transaction you're looking to complete. For example, if you're selling a commercial property, you'll want to work with an agent who has experience in that area.

You'll also want to consider their communication skills. A good realtor should be responsive, able to answer your questions and keep you updated throughout the process.  In my opinion - You should never feel like you're bothering your agent with a million questions. This is why it's important to find the right fit. Maybe you need someone who's better at explaining things so they can answer all of your questions before you even need to ask them.

Another important factor to consider is their marketing strategy. How do they plan to market your property if you're selling, or find properties if you're buying? A good real estate agent should have a solid marketing plan and be able to explain it to you.   I would be more than happy to explain what I offer my clients (whether you're buying or selling).

And finally, it's important to choose a realtor who you feel comfortable working with. This is someone who you'll be spending a lot of time with, so it's important that you get along and trust each other.

I like to say I'll become your best friend for a few months...this is probably my top tip. You NEED to feel comfortable, just as I need to feel comfortable with you.   A lot of my previous clients are now friends, and I absolutely LOVE that.
